oooh ooh! I can't stand this. Can I speak yet? or would you prefer I stayed out of it? ooh! I can't! MC stop reading now if you don't want to know.Maybe I could satisfy myself by saying that you are all right and that ambiguity is the key. Everything you have discussed is an angle I considered. I wanted you to make up your mind what Parrish would do. And then - in due course you might find out what I thought she would do and what the outcome of that was. Or you might not. On the coil issue. Coiling could be preparatory to using- a reflex action of handling a familiar weapon. or it could indeed be putting it away. What do you think she did? MDP Well, you asked for it!! In a first draft of my post, I offered the possibility that she might kill herself. I couldn't come up with really great reasons so I left it out in the end - but it would mean the eskalim doesn't claim her and that Brilliance can bring the net back up and so society won't collapse. She could also kill Brilliance, and sit in her seat and be Brilliance mkII, find the secret of stopping eskalim online, and run oz her own way. BTW, I keep referrring to Brilliance, I mean the old trog in the cave - who actually (now I look again) says she *isn't* Brilliance... But maybe replaced Brilliance. Bloody monosyllabic cave-bints. I'm sure I'm just being dim. Marianne made my head hurt.

Ah, now it all makes sense, it's meant to be ambiguous. I was reading it going "It's the third book, it's the last book, there must be an ending" and then there kinda wasn't one and I was left going "Ummm, am I stupid or did I miss something?" Well, possibly I am stupid and I did miss something, but at least I feel better about it. Carrying on from what Cary said, I did find this book different to the others. It was interesting to see just how Parrish was prepared to go, and to see how on the one hand she stayed the same, but on the other she's completely different. The effect of the eskaalim, no doubt. This one seemed to have more science in it than the other two, so it was a little harder to read, but the characters that came in were really interesting, perhaps more so than the characters at in the Tert because these guys seem so much more flawed, although they live in the so called 'better' part of society. I was surprised that Kat was there, but gratified as well: it made sense that it had to be someone who would love Parrish so much that would put so much on the line for her. Also liked that she and Daac didn't get together: that fitted in perfectly, although my romantic heart cringed a little. All in all, I think this was my favourite of the three: really interesting, particularly since I read it almost straight after reading the other two again, so it was great to see Parrish develop. In a lot of trilogies, the protagonist doesn't seem to develop at all, but Parrish has gone through the wringer and she isn't the same person any more. It would be interesting to see the consequences of it all.

Hi Nicole, and welcome. Nicole was on several panels with Cary and I at Thylacon. She's also editing an anthology which she might like to mention here. I want to thank you for noticing that Parrish changed. It was the one thing I set out to do at the beginning. How could she not be affected by all these things that were happening. Often time - as you say - the main character doesn't change at all. GR, sorry I made your head hurt - and not. It made my head hurt so it's only fair You guys have been so great. You all GOT IT! You got Parrish. And that is my biggest reward. MDP

I enjoyed Crash but Nylon Angel is still my favourite out of the three, I think it's because NA as a book alone really didn't need the other two books I feel it really stood alone. The continuation of the story was amazing but I'll always have a soft spot for NA.
Teece really suprised me in Crash, it makes me want to slap him but then again if you rhink about it waiting for a woman that long must be frustrating and lonely. What would Honeybee's and Teece's kid be like, a fashion-junkie bike ridier? ;D

i think its a nice ending in a way (even though i dont want it to be over) but Parrish cant survive the eskaalim, shes not a mommy type either so Teece gets to settle down, Daac and Mei are left together (even though Daac totally loves Parrish) and Parrish makes the sacrifce for everybody she loves around her alive and gone. very heroic

She HAS to be. Please write more about PP! I finished CD just now and I was heartbroken for PP. All the weight of the world on her shoulders and she doesn't even get a nice, pink, happy ending... I kinda like the 'vague' ending and I kinda don't. I like it because it suits Parrish. But I don't like it because you really start to care about Parrish and this uncertainty about what happens next is KILLING me! Marianne, you really created a character which will stay in my mind for centuries!!!!! I love Parrish Plessis. I just can't believe there's not another PP book that I can order and read, can't believe it!

Hi Phedre. as I said to Cj, I feel sure there will be at least one more. You guys certainly inspire me to write one. I'm glad you all enjoyed Crash. It wasn't easy to take her out of the grunge into the glitz (sort of) and keep her running true to form. After Crash I needed a break from her but she'll wind me back in eventually. She's like that Thanks for all the positive comments. MDP

Can I put in a request for Parrish, Dacc and Teece at a Viva whipped cream factory? Oh, and I didn't just say that, because I never would. See my halo? 0:) Oh, and heartofglitter, I agree about NA being the best one. Just because I think I'd read it three times before Code Noir came out, and knew it inside out and loved it to bits.

;Okay, my turn. to Marianne, I said I'd get around to a take of Crash Deluxe and now I find the book a lot harder to quantify than the previous 2. for everyone else... I couldn't wait for CD to arrive and when it did I finished it in 2 days. Who needs sleep anyway? The amount of precious sleep I'm willing to lose over a book, any book is a personal benchmark of how engrossing the story is/was. I found CD impossible to put down, so yeah the story had me hooked from go. Like everyone else has already said, I thought there was a fair departure from the previous 2 books. Since I don't want to bore everyone with the same observations made by others, I'll do this- -The beginning flash forward of the kidnapping, BRILLIANT( not Brilliance the AI) ;D. I completely forgot about it until it showed up at the near end of the book. - I liked the amoratos and the Dizzies, although the sweatgland thing started to get a bit gross for my taste. I felt for Parrish doing the whole bi- thing whether from choice or Eskaalim, I thought she had some genuine feeling for Glori but I guess even she doesn't know for sure. - I loved the torture of Glori, well, pliers to teeth, that's gonna leave a mark! I should explain that I meant I loved that Parrish hung the guy out the window. Made me give her a standing O, ( which meant since I was reading on a lunch break, several people were startled when I stood up and went, YEAH, BABY!) - Saw the Bras thing coming but KAT completely blindsided me. - I thought Parrish coiled the wire to take Brilliance's head clean off despite the personal cost. Never read it otherwise. Last desperate act of defiant control and conscious choice/sacrifice for the greater good and all that. After reading this post, now I'm not sure. - Liked the real world VR side effects the nausea, etc. I know. I know the vomit didn't gross me out but the sweat gland thing did, what can I say. - I especially liked that Parrish never got the hang of moving subtly through the high-powered Viva upper-crust. Just got more desperate and in Parrish-style took on her objective like a juggernaut. I'm glad she didn't suddenly become too smooth. It wouldn't have been believable. - I loved that Parrish suffered physically from the number of risky confrontations she fought unlike some story wear the hero/heroine never seemed to break a nail or muss a hair while single-handedly saving several worlds. More importantly, she became less emotional and less human by the end, It felt like her colors were bleeding to gray. All in all, Great story. With that said here's my confusions and queries- Was Wombebe in the Orchid green house the blew up? I wasn't clear on how she died. When are we going to see inside Daac, he seemed an afterthought through a lot of the book. He's a character that I'd love to see more exploration into his psyche and the love/hate relationship with Parrish. Lots of fertile ground there. When is that bitchLeesaTULU ever gonna get her comeuppance?? Is Teece's kid- to-be infected with the Eskaalim? Does " punter" mean casual tourist or slumming rich kids or... Okay, you can all wake up now, I'm done. Thank you Marianne for reminding why I love to read in the first place. Parrish has taken me somewhere beyond my imagination while making me feel like I could wake up tomorrow and be in her world. I'm humbled and appreciative. *Bows appropriately* Hasta Luego compadres.

Okay, my turn. Was Wombebe in the Orchid green house the blew up? I wasn't clear on how she died. YES. It was hard to make that clear when everything was happening. I actually regard that as one of the things I didn't do well enough. When are we going to see inside Daac, he seemed an afterthought through a lot of the book. He's a character that I'd love to see more exploration into his psyche and the love/hate relationship with Parrish. Lots of fertile ground there. The plot took me away from Daac so much in this book that it was hard for them (P and D) to get time together. And of course being first person, you can't just zip off and spend time with him. I intend (if my publishers give me an opportunity to write the next one) to better explore him and their relationship. He's obsessive. But he's got a golden part. When is that bitchLeesaTULU ever gonna get her comeuppance?? Hah! Just you wait...Is Teece's kid- to-be infected with the Eskaalim? can't answer that one Does " punter" mean casual tourist or slumming rich kids or... a punter is an average person (jo bloe)Thank you Marianne for reminding why I love to read in the first place. Parrish has taken me somewhere beyond my imagination while making me feel like I could wake up tomorrow and be her world. I'm humbled and appreciative. *Bows appropriately* Thank you, Darkhorse, for taking the time to give me such thoughtful feedback.
