While I was reading the book, I had this vision of 'Video-Game' while I was immersed in the world. Actually, the book reminded me of a certain game called 'Deus-Ex' and the Sequel 'Invisible War'.
Call me crazy, but could someone make Nylon Angel and its sequels into a game? She has a built in compass! What better game mechanic can you not have?! ;D
Now I'm just eccstatic.

Hi there, Cary (see game thread...somewhere here) is I believe, still looking at developing the books into a table top game. Not sure where he's at with it currently. But you could post suggestions in his thread. He's always interested in other opinions.
I think the books adapt well to a number of mediums, including video game. Just needs the right (gaming company) person to come along and develop it. Easier said than done! MDP

Deus Ex was also set in a post-apocolyptic setting. I can understand where you're coming from. Marianne, being a gamer myself, I can tell you that Deus Ex was basically a 'first person perspective' styled game. It allowed the player to become immersed in the game from the games character 'JC Denton'. Would be good to be immersed in Parrish's world also!

Hmm, I agree that Parrish would make the BEST videogame ever if it was done right, but I think I might cry if it was done in an FPS (first-person shooter) format. I prefer to see my character - it gives them so much more depth for me. But who am I kidding...? If there was a Parrish videogame I'd buy it whatever happened.

I could see it being a point and click type of game such as the Broken Sword or Discworld game series? They were quite enjoyable, in my opinion. XD
Or perhaps a shooter style game like Dirge of Cerberus?

Astian, you play Broken Sword? Excellent! The point-and-click style isn't something that immediately comes to my mind when I think 'Parrish' (she's on the go so much that I'd have said action-adventure would be the way to go), but now that I think of it, it could be interesting. I quite liked Dirge's style as well.

A lot of people didn't like Dirge, but I think it was a nice attempt that Square-Enix made of a third person shooter. I think it's much more interesting than a first person shooter style game.
And yes, I have played all the Broken Sword games. Bit of a gaming geek here, of the console kind.. >_>;

I didn't like the storyline - I think Square have gone a bit FFVII mad and as a result are making horrible fanservice-y plot mistakes - but the gameplay was very cool once you got used to it. ^_^ I haven't played Broken Sword 4, because they only released it on PC and mine doesn't have enough of something or other, so I can't play it. But 1-3 are some of my favorite games of all time.

Oh? There's a fourth one? I wasn't aware... I have played 1-3, and only beaten the second and third. Which is my fav? I don't know really. Probably the second... A lot of the classic elements of the series were removed from the third game and it just didn't feel the same.

Yeah, it was called Broken Sword: The Angel of Death. Apparently it's not as good as the others though. :/ I'm going to say the first game is my favourite, just because it was the first one I played...

All the Broken sword games are great in their own ways, but the first and second were the best, they put so much into the story and characters. My childhood was spent playing point-and-click adventure, so I'm alittle biast. Whenever they start converting originally point and click game series to console (broken sword, monkey island...etc) I think they try too hard to reach too many people and don't work hard enough on the game itself.
Number 4's gameplay was better, but it was full of game errors, and number 3's story wsa much better, unfortunatly the controls were crappy so it was harder to play.

I think my favourite thing about the BS series is the dialogue - because it's made by a British developer (and a local one too, only about an hour on the train from where I live!), the humour and observations are just dead-on for me. "We don't do 'shows' in Britain... we do 'programmes'!"
... Right, that was unspeakably geeky. I do apologise. XD
IM, I didn't have a huge problem with the controls in the third game - I did prefer the actual cursor-on-screen point-and-click method though.

Another game that is of similar standing is Farhenheit also known as Indigo Prophecy. I've just started playing it today, and it isn't all that bad actually.

It's SO GOOD... you must be my gaming twin or something! I love that game to death - though the ending sucks (don't worry, I won't spoil it for you!).
