There is an inherent danger to transfer our heroine to film is that it may not be in the form that we would like. Nor in the vision that we as fans have imagined her in. Good point, but if things don't go as Marianne would like, she could always set us, her Attack-Patchers, on them... *hides baseball bat behind back*

It always comes down to violence with you doesn't it Chirugal?
What else you got hidden behind your back/on your person. I don't even want to know where the garrot is.

They did remake Dune in three parts... I've got the boxset. The original did indeed suck muchly.
But, as long as the movie version doesn't slaughter the book, I'm pretty cool with some stuff being changed. As long as the heart of it is still there I'm happy appreciating the movie as an entity unto itself, without having to sit there going 'that wasn't in the book!' or 'what about that thing that was in the book that they forgot or changed or whatever'. I'm just a nice person like that. ;D Chir, we could be sisters. ;D

Yay! *makes you honorary sister* Yeah, if they added some stuff it could be intriguing, as long as they didn't go out of character or into the realms of the utterly unrealistic. Part of the Parrishverse's charm is that it could happen one day. Though if they decide to cut any of my favourite scenes, I will be exceedingly annoyed.

Better yet lets start a new post then shall we?

Hi Patchers, I've written the film treatment for NA and am now waiting to see if it will be picked up for 'early development'. Imagine Parrish in a film (what about the girl in Blade 3:Trinity, how do you think she'd do?) MDP Jessica Biel? Possibly too short, but hips to die for? Although I guess what I mean is she is perhaps conventionally beautiful, whereas from what I read in (book 1 only) Pleiss is differently attractive? More like I dunno, Eliza Dushku or Bai Ling?

[quote author=idcrisis board=main thread=1100908522 And don't me strated to the mess they made of Frank Herberts Dune. Sheesh
A movie sequence that at least recquired a treatment in at least three parts was squezed into one, with disastrous results.[/quote]
You seen the SF channel Dune, and sequel? Well worth it.

Keep NA dark like the new Batman Begins. If your keeping the fight scenes real think Bourne Identity movie with Matt Damon or knife work from Chronicles of Riddick. Solid no nonsense chorography speed up the frame spped slightly to convey lethality and skilland absolutely no wire work. None. Tert needs Blade Runner rain and neons. The costumes similar to Underworld. Matter of fact Selene( Kate Beckinsale) makes a pretty good Parrish.
Try Kiera Knightley?( Pirates of Carribean, King Arthur) or Milla Jovovich( Resident Evil 1 and 2, I don't even wanna know how badly I butchered her last name.)
Ooh, better yet, Hilary Swank( Million Dollar Baby)Pretty but not too prettty, athletic, and you know she can punch!

think I'd say latter more than former there? would want the actress to outweight your average labrador at least, perhaps?

True but actresses with edge AND muscle are hard to find.

LOL, go for the up-and-coming I say...just produce someone who looks right and acts above average, if not excellently, pay lots for lessons to get them better and then film! Of course, this would take a lot of time and money, but...it's Parrish!
Of course, you could just settle for second best and go for someone who at least fills some of the Parrish criteria

I think perhaps Angelina Jolie for Parrish? I think after her role in tomb raider, perhaps she'd be able to play the 'kick ass I dont need help' attitude, but a film and comic book would definatley rock

For me sometimes it makes it more believeable.
