I was watching Johnny Nuemonic for the -teenth time the other day, and it made me think: are there any awesome cyberpunk films out there I'm not aware of? What are people's favourites?
I gotta say, Hackers will always rock my socks hard, despite being cheesy and full of 90's lulz. Existenz I love because it tripped me out so badly the first few times I watched it.

Good topic Mouse. There are a lot of great CP films out there.
My favorite has always been Ghost in the Shell (yes it's Japanese animation but it still counts)
The Matrix is a good one (the original of course)
Blade runner is always a favorite of any true Cyberpunk, it's also one of the ones that shaped the genre.
And I'll just chuck in one last favorite, The Fifth Element. It's both CP and Sci-Fi. This movie introduced me to Milla Jovovitch (leeloo) and I fell in love with her that moment.
Next!

Hackers, The Fifth Element and The Matrix = LOVE. ^_^
It might sound weird for a Marianne fan to say, but cyberpunk mostly isn't my genre. So nothing's coming to mind right now. I'll be back, though!
Hmmm... does The Terminator count as cyberpunk? *ponders*

I am a massive fan of the whole Matrix Trilogy, plus the Animatrix and everything associated with it. So many people missed the whole point of the second and third movies.
But I see Bladerunner, the grand-daddy of the genre hasn't been mentioned here. That is another favourite of mine. Also Ghost in the Shell (the first one, Innocense did not quite do it for me) is fantastic.
Erm... Also it is "Johnny Mnemonic."

Add Escape from New York, Paris 2054 - Renaissance, Chrysalis and Equilibrium to the list. Also great movies but a little lose on the cyberpunk idea would be The Running Man and Total Recall I love cyberpunk

Yeah it is I had to hunt around for the DVD and eventually resort to ebay. Really impressive to see Daniel Craig get involved in the movie and I love the visual style

My partner also works in 3D and games and was not as impressed with the visual style. I liked it, but I'm a philistine.

Hi Matt, welcome!
What's Paris 2054, Stellar? Is it old?

Here's a taster. It is an animated film noir/cyberpunk flick with Daniel Craig as one of the voice actors. It's certainly not old.
