To Marianne first respectively, then all others:
Are the Cabal Coomera aboriginies? ( Did I even spell aboriginies right?)I'm sure that answer is obvous to all of you in OZ but remember I'm from a country that still isn't sure the rest of the world exists,
....unless you have something we want. But that's a whole other issue.
I'm loathe to read the character threads because I haven't read CN or CD and don't want risk the spoilers. (My copy of CN is still paddling it's way across the pond. SIGH.)
if so, what does that make Loyl-me-daac and Parrish?

Hi DH, sorry just saw this. easy to miss things if you don't check in frequently. Yes, The Cabal are supposed to represent a group descended from the Australian Aboriginals. Though not in any genetically exclusive sense. More they hold to the customs and the beliefs. Loyl cherishes his ancestry and wants to gather the diluted bloodlines and reinstate their identity. Parrish's blood connections are less determined and remain so for the author's purposes. However she hold's enough of a connection to make the decisions she does in bk 3. M

Thanks! Believe it or not that helps a lot Marianne. I'm sure as I read the CN and CD most of my questions will be answered. For what's worth I thought the whole gliding, spooky spiritual side of the Cabal is what makes them cool. I think it sets them apart from the Yakuza-type organizations that seem to be a dark force in every cyberpunk novel.
Now I'm looking forward to CN more than ever. I may have to pay a very personal visit to a certain bookshipper if my copy doesn't show up soon. Parrish fans will not be denied!

Well, apparently my bookshipper reads this board.
Yesterday I posted above about not receiving Code Noir and voila! There waiting in the mail today was a package containing a vixen in red begging to be read.
Now if I can just get them to ship Crash Deluxe.....

Alright, now that I'm reading CN I get the whole Cabal Aboriginie thing better.
Thanks again for the explanation Marianne! In this case ignorance isn't really bliss, it was just ignorance. I don't think I pester anyone with my stupidity until I finish all the books.
Thanks all for being tolerant.

Quite the contrary DH, I'm impressed that you haven't struggled terribly with the idiosyncratic language and the Aussie concepts. Power to you. I've just heard from my US editor that the books are doing well in their first couple of weeks - you must be spreading the word fast! best MDP

MDP,
One does what one can.( I'll take the undeserved credit.)
Can't type long, I'm only 60 or pages into CN. Must split time between finishing CN or Negotiations with my book shipper to send Crash D quickly lest they regret the consequences...
BTW, Should slide work in here somewhere, it's only been a 12 hour day so far..

Hi All!
Crazy question. What is that font used on the cover of the books?

Hi Craig, I'm not sure but I could find out easily enough if you would like? Do you mean the British covers? MDP

Marianne,
I didn't realise that there were different covers. Checking my copies of the books, it's the British covers that I have.
Thanks very much,
Craig
