I think MDP expressed it really well when she described us as a bunch of multitalented geniuses. But: Where did your writing start? What was the first fiction you remember writing? The first actual story? I don't mean published or even ever shared, but that first side of A4 in shakey crayon writing about a picnic at "My Little Pony Palace" (this IS a predominantly female clique) Even better if you can find and post the piece in question!! ;D

Fanfic are a fairly recent development for me, so I don't have any cringe-worthy stories about them from the early stages of my life. However, my first ever story was about two dinosuars called Flappy and Ripper who were going to be king and queen of the dinosaurs but had to fight the rebel raptors first (I'm pretty sure I didn't know what 'rebel' meant when I was five, but inhindsight that's what they were . I wrote it in one of those sparkly pens on a little orange notepad. I'll dig it up for your entertainment... I have it in one of my boxes somewhere... I do remember it has so much exposition it isn't funny and my dialogue was unpunctuated to the point of not even having dialogue marks. And I couldn't spell, either. It is nice to look back and see how very far I have come. ;D

Jee, not sure I can remember that far back, although I must admit I'm in the same boat as Mouse, writing for me is a fairly recent avenue I've been travelling down. Although *shock, horror* I've been a retired role playing game master for half of my life so I always had a creaative streak. Its only recently I've given up on finding "intelligent" players and started writing as a creative outlet. It's new to me but as can be seen by some of my posts I'm never at a loss for something to write about Always been a fan of the cyber punk genre though since my first William Gibson book back in 86. Now don't I feel old, some of the gang hadn't even been born yet!

LOL, me and Jedi are in the same boat...you must be realllly old Mad Max! . I wrote stuff like re-takes on the big bad wolf when I was about 6, and I thought I was writing an epic when it was about 6 lines long...I'll have to dig it out sometime. In grade 7 (when I was 11/12) I came up with this story called 'the disastrous wedding' which was truly bad, and I remember thinking it was excellent. If it wasn't so long I'd re-type it for you.

My first fictional story was about my teacher's dog saving the day...
It was a cliche'd Lassie for kids.
Then I wrote a story that was supposed to be a paragraph long in 4th grade, but instead I wrote 2 pages. It was about a boy in Africa getting his family away from the Military Regime that took his village. It involved firefights, a few cussing, and a grand escape on a Motor plane to the states.
I got an A+.
Ah...the good ol' days..

I wrote several strange things from the ages of 8-10. I think there was something based on the title of the book "Johnny and the Bomb" and also a really weird thing about an owl with six wings and loads of weather-controlling pixies... (Don't ask)
For some reason my signature theme in stories was to always have a character called Doctor Jones. I believe I have now moved on into the realms of bad fanfiction. Wish me luck! My first fanfic was started in 2002 and it is still unfinished...

Doctor Jones? As in, bad Aqua song? And you do NOT write bad fanfic.
