Hi everyone! Haven't been around in -ages- (tell you all why in a minute!), and I have internet access today so I thought I'd drop by and say hello and let you all know what I've been up to. In the last six months I've moved out to my own place, started working fulltime in childcare, and acquired a boyfriend. It's been hectic, but awesome fun. A downside though is that I don't have internet at my place, so I only get online when I visit mum and dad. That on top of friends and anime and RPG clubs occupying my free time, I haven't been able to spend as much time indulging in my fandoms as I would like to. I haven't even been reading lately, I'm so out of the loop about what's out and such... any suggestions of recent releases that kick arse? ^__^ Hope everyone is doing well, and hopefully I'll be able to duck in every now and again to keep up with things!

Hey Mouse! Good to see you... ^_^ Sounds like your life is coming along nicely... very cool. Things are just the usual around here... There are sections for Marianne's new projects up now, though it's still a few months before anything's available to buy. I'm reading Trudi Canavan's Age of the Five series at the moment, which is pretty good if you read fantasy (I know you're a sci-fi girl but I can't remember if you're into fantasy too). Welcome back, anyway! *hugs*

Nice, welcome back! <hugs the misses>
Now, I just have to acquire myself a Girlfriend...
Hmm... wonder where I can find one...
As for reading selections, I have not been able to get into a good book in... well, since the semester started! It's about to end in a week though so I should be able to give you a good read by then(However, comic book wise, I'd say the 'Walking Dead' because its zombies taking over the world... and the world is one F**ked up place. The zombies are bad enough, but the people...)
Oh and A Scanner Darkly will warp your mind inside and out too.

Yeah! It's kinda freaky sometimes though... I'm not a care- and responsibility-free teenager anymore! But I still have things like anime club and RPG club and fandom, so I don't really feel like I'm -that- grown up. XD Funnily enough, I stole the first book of Age of Five from my sister the other day and started reading it. Not far in yet (work, yay! ^_^), but it seems pretty good. (I prefer to write sci-fi, definitely, but I actually do tend to read more fantasy. Go figure.) *glomps* It's good to talk again! ^__^ I just googled it, and found this: imagecomics.com/onlinecomics.php Is that 'The Walking Dead' you mean? It's not bad... although I'm getting a bit over-exposed to zombies, between my gorey-zombie loving little sister and zombie loving boyfriend. XD I like them best when there's something a bit different to the usual stuff you see in zombie literature. I watched a b-grade movie called 'Zombie Honeymoon' last week, I liked how the titular zombie didn't get bitten and immediately become a dopey decomposing corpse; he got blood vomited on him by a 'sick' guy at the beach and then had a seizure and went to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He woke up two minutes later though, and seemed okay. It's not till later that it comes out he ate the guy in the hospital bed next to him, and his wife finds him eating some jogger in the bathtub. He retains his intelligence however, and it takes time for him to start looking 'undead'. It was by no means a great movie (good stupid entertainment though ^__^), but I did like how it tried to be a bit different. I'll have to check Scanner Darkly out. I like a good mind-screw... as if my deep love of Neon Genesis wasn't evidence enough of that. XD

Mouse, Mouse, welcome home all grown up too! We're still pottering along here. I'm hoping to increase my output next year by looking around for a Writer in Residency - so I can write out of the home. Less distraction means more books! MDP

Hey Mouse! It's good to hear you're doing okay - and that you haven't forgotten us! I don't think I could recommend any new good books at the moment - have you tried 'Crown Duel' by Sherwood Smith? it's about one of my favourite books, or anything by Christopher Stasheff. Neither of them is new, but you may not have found them.
