Yes, once more the time has rolled around where those of the collectively insane and author-orientated gather their collective muses together and write, write, write, until the shredded remains of their sanity disolves into a cloudy mist of caffiene and plotholes. I am of course talking about NaNoWriMo. The National Nover Writing Month, in which literally tens of thousands of pain and suffering addicts join together to write a 50,000 word novel (or novella if you want to get technical on me) in 30 days. It takes place over the month of november, and, if you are overloaded with work, assignments, school, other deadlines, you will fit right in. This year will be my fourth attempt at this. I am yet to get above 25k. I just felt like advertising, and this place filled with nutjobs who are also wannabe (and successful) authors is near perfect for it. The website explains more. Nanowrimo.orgAnd no, before you ask, there are no prizes, just the satisfaction that you can get ideas down on paper, no matter how crappy it turns out. Its a kick in the pants to those of us who don't know how to cram writing in between other things to meet an imaginary deadline. I definately need that. So, join with me in torturing yourself in the most inhuman way imaginable: Write a book! ;D

I'm really dying to do NaNo... every year I kind of pine in the direction of the site, but I only heard about it the year I started my degree. So I don't have the time to do it until I've finished. Next year, though - for sure! Good luck with your attempt, though... let us know how it's going!
