I recently finished the first two Sentients of Orion novels and am very pleased with the style, points of view strategy, characters, plot and technology. I know there is an alternate universe out there where all this really happens! Thank you Marianne for exploring and discovering it for us!
I do have a question or two for you coming up. My casual knowledge is that spelling and some idioms gets adjusted depending on whether the market is Britain, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. The books I've purchased here in Texas at Barnes and Noble have the usual trivial non American spellings. So I presume these books were originally intended not for the U.S.
Perhaps I imagined it, but I could have sworn I saw Mirror Space on the shelves just a few days ago, along side a dozen copies of some of your other books. I came back to purchase Mirror Space but could not find it. I think a re-shelving occurred and perhaps they pulled some of your books.
Searches on the Internet show your book is out, but not available on Amazon or Barnes and Noble on-line. So I am wondering if publishers would deliberately pull books off the shelf here, if they decided they were going to introduce (with localized spellings) to the U.S. market a book already out in another country.
When will we see Mirror Space here in the U.S.? Or is there a place anyone knows of where I could order it on-line?
Thanks, and I hope Rast does get her own book. Until then, I suppose I will just have to read some of your earlier works!

Hi Textu, welcome to Parrish's Patch and thanks for the kind words about the books! In answer to your questions - you have bought the first two books of the UK edition. The US editions begin coming out in October this year. You can see the new cover over at www.mariannedepierres.comThere were some 'rights intricacies' that meant only the first two UK eds were made available on amazon.com but they will soon be taken down from there and only the US editions will be listed. So I suggest either buying the next two books from amazon.uk or waiting until the US editions come out next year. Either way, I hope you can get hold them and would appreciate if you recommended them to friends. Nice to meet you! Marianne

Whoo, new member... Love the idea that there's an alternate universe where the Sentients-verse exists.

Hi Textu, Make sure you check the Parrish books too. Different sub-genre, but for those of us that prefer our scifi with a bit more titanium-tipped-boot-kickarse, they're what makes MDP worth following ;D (yes, I like Sentients, too, but Parrish is my first love). Just make sure everyone else is preoccupied first. You may lose a few hours accidently. Stellar. Currently in Babyland 101.

Thanks everyone!
No change at the book store, so I fired up eBay and managed to locate a UK seller for about the same as it would have cost here ($12 U.S.). My apologies if that somehow hurts the cause, but it is a biological imperative of mine to get as far into an exceptionally good series as quickly as possible.
I will read at least one Parrish book on your recommendation and look forward to reading more of Marianne's works while I wait for the fourth SoO.

Definitely start with Nylon Angel. And I don't think anyone blames you for trying to get Mirror Space as early as possible.
