Cool! I've just placed a hold on the first of her books at the library, so I should be ready to ask lots of questions soon! I'm looking forward to it - the premise for the story sounds good, and there was enough in there to maybe make it a bit of a laugh too - hopefully it'll be something I enjoy.
Can't wait for Rachel to come onto the Patch next year!

Beware! Once you start reading the Weather Warden series you may not want to quit. I just finished Firestorm and am currently waiting (although not very patiently) for Thin Air, the next in line to come out. Some parts are funny, and some just make you say Oh SH*#! Sheyana, i think you will enjoy the wardens series. just try to read them in order so you have all the info. I am also waiting for the next Parrish novel (just as impatiently i might add). If anyone knows how to travel through time would you please go forward and find me all the books by my fav writers so i can read them all at once. Once i find books that i enjoy i can't put them down. And series's are the worst. It's pure torture to have to wait to read the next one. But soooo much pleasure when you do.

Hi everybody! I'm very excited to be here -- I'm currently cranking on another deadline (really, I'm always on deadline, so this is not new). This one's for the third book in the new Morganville Vampires series, MIDNIGHT ALLEY. The sixth Weather Warden novel, THIN AIR, has already been turned in and is in copyedit for an August release date. Next up for release is probably THE DEAD GIRLS' DANCE, the second Morganville Vampires book, in April. Both covers are available for preview at the site, and the books are now available for preorder. I'm working on a new free Wardens short story, "Claimed," for the website -- oh, and if you haven't been there recently, the website's all new and spiffy, because I'm a geek and I've been tinkering in my spare time. There's lots of free stuff there, plus teaser chapters for THIN AIR and THE DEAD GIRLS' DANCE that weren't available before. Also, I'm doing a short story in Charlaine Harris's anthology MANY BLOODY RETURNS, but I don't know the release date on that yet. It'll be a hardcover anthology. And I had a story in the recently released MY BIG FAT SUPERNATURAL WEDDING, which is a hoot of a collection. It sold so well that there's going to be a sequel, MY BIG FAT SUPERNATURAL HONEYMOON. Will be working on the story for that in February. Oh, and I have a new Myspace page here: www.myspace.com/rachelcaineAsk away, y'all! (<---- I'm from Texas. I get to say that. Also, howdy.) -- Rachel

Hi Rachel! Give me until tommorow and I should have read the first weather warden novel, and may well be highly annoyed at the library because I think that's the only one they have It sounds like you're having a busy time with writing etc, makes me feel especially lazy! So...give me till tommorow and you may not be able to cope with the load of questions (depending what kind of mood I'm in and how early in the morning I start asking them. )

Hi Shey,
not that I want to stop you asking Rachel questions but I thought we might set a date in February to have our usual q and a forum. That will give me time to advertise Rachel being here, and get everyone to ether on the same couple of days. I'm moving house in the next couple of weeks and everything is in chaos.

Hey, Rachel!
Bizarre coincidence - I'd just sent Sally the next SG-1 title, went back to working on my MA, inserted your and P. Elrod's title in the references, and Marianne emailed me to say you'd dropped by.
The guys on this board are fun - you're going to have a ball.
Cheers,
Sonny

Neko, thanks for the warning...I should have paid more attention! I just finished Ill Wind (picked it up from the library this morning), I can understand how reading them out of order would lessen the understanding and enjoyment. Now I must try and find somewhere to get hold of the rest of the series - bummer!
As to your note about series - the only thing worse than waiting for the next book, is having a series recommended and discovering you can only get hold of numbers 2,5 and 6 without having to wait for months and pay lots of money you don't want to spend!

Ok. Read book 1 of the Morganville Vampires. What can i say? Loved it and can't wait to read the rest. Got blindsided by one character's story, just wasn't expecting that outcome. Read them all, i'm going to.

How does she do it? Two different series as well as short stories. How does someone get to have so much talent while the rest of us mortals get nada. Not only does she have two series, but at the same time? If i tried to change gears that fast my head would turn inside out. Don't mind me. i have the artistic talent of a garden slug so i'm like totally green at those who can seemingly do it all.

I'd love to know, too, neko! I can't even finish one novel at the moment, let alone two series! ;D
I bought Ill Winds today, and will get stuck into it when I finish my university reading. William Faulkner, how you bore me...

Another writer? Ok if it publishes let me know and i'll give it a try. Read the short story by Rachel Caine in My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding. Loved it and now there's going to be another. Lord my head hurts.
