I also made a few wallpapers with this image, but I need a free host. Can anyone suggest a good one that doesn't put restrictions on the dimensions? Some of the ones I've seen resize them if they're too large. Mine are all 1024x768
TIA! Ney

i just downloaded no 4. It looks fantastic. thanks for putting my website address on it.
Now, do you think I could set this download thing up from my website as well?
If Cj's, yours, and all the other images were in the file saver software I should just be able to just create a link. although having thumbnails would be good.
Neyjour, that totally rocks! *awestruck* How long did that take? She looks exactly as she would if they'd really made a game...
Marianne, once again I'm revealed to know only half of what everyone thinks I know... I have no idea. >_< It's a little embarrassing... *hides under a rock*
"What are you complaining about? He cooked you breakfast."
Chirugal, I'd guess I spent about 7 or 8 hours on it. Took a bit longer than it normally would have because I'd never worked with that rain prop before, and I was also playing around with some camera settings that I've never used before either.
Marianne, wish I could help but ... file saver software? What the heck is that? LOL! Website stuff is mostly Greek to me. I've actually been trying to get a website of my own going for a very long time and it's driving me nuts!
The only thing I can suggest is using a free host, at least until you figure out how to store the files on your site. SaveFile seems pretty good (www.savefile.com) and it has unlimited bandwidth.
You should be able to set it up so the download link is assigned to the thumb. I can make some thumbs of my wallpapers. Just let me know what size you want them to be. I can also zip them up as well, if you like.
I haven't checked them out yet, but I see you have a forum for your short stories. You could turn those into little eBooks (.pdf format), zip them up, and make them available for downlaod as well. Have a whole page on your site for Downloads, Freebies, Fun Stuff, whatever.
OMG OMG OMG OMG!! YOU ROCK YOU ROCK!! THATS AWESOME!!!! omg!! *hyperventialtes* you HAVE to teach me please please PLEASE!!! its amazing your amazing! OMG
sorry i'm usually not this hyper (yea right) but i get over excited when i see such COOLNESS!
OMG *bows, bows bows* Seriously! thats justs wow!!!!!# are you a deviant??
(i promise i'm not THAT mush of a psycho, Chiru-san will vouch for me!!...right....)
Sheyana, I'd love to do another Parrish pic but it might be a while. I just deleted Poser last night and did a fresh install (had problems with the latest service release because I had renamed my folders) so now I have to start reinstalling all my content. That's really tedious and time consuming. *sigh*
I'm just doing a little personal website with an art gallery, and sections for gaming, Poser, books, etc. Learning how to use FrontPage has been tough, but I think I've finally got the hang of it. It's the publishing part that I'm having troubles with. But I spoke to a couple online frinds a few days ago and I think they may be able to help me. *crosses fingers* I'll know more once I get my old computer back. It has most of my webpage files on it.
Cj, I do have a deviantART gallery, but I've only got 3 pics up there at the moment. Renderosity (www.renderosity.com) is where I spend most of my time, and almost all the Poser images I've done are in my gallery there. I also have some "naughty" images posted at a couple other sites. If anyone is interested, just send me a PM and I'll give you the links. I don't want to post them here in case linking to adult sites is a 'no-no'.
I'll gather up some links and make another post in a little while for anyone that might be interested in Poser. It's horribly addictive, but tonns of fun!

Hmm, that's the first time this issue has come up. On the one hand, I'm a total perv and don't mind seeing naughty pics at all (*prays mother doesn't find this!*) but on the other hand it's now classed as Marianne's official message board. I'll check with her to see if it'd be an issue.

Hmmm ... I was just wondering, is there any way to get an email notification when someone replies to a thread you've posted on?
Ah, crap. There used to be an option to do that... but then Proboards did this complicated revamp thing. It doesn't look like there's an option now. Sorry...
The latest version is Poser 6. If you want to try the free demo, go to Downloads > Free Trial and click on the Poser 6 box.
Now, if Poser is out of your budget, there is a way you can start 'posering' without having to spend a single penny. The folks over at DAZ have just recently released their final version of DAZ|Studio. You can find it here: www.daz3d.com/program/studio/1_0index.php
From what I've heard, it doesn't have nearly as many options as Poser, but it's an excellent option for those who can't afford to shell out the cash for Poser.
There are literally thousands and thousands of freebies out there on the web for Poser. The two most popular human figures, with the largest available content (free and commercial) are Victoria 3.0 and Michael 3.0, and DAZ has also just recently offered them for free.
So now you've got 2 nekkid people. Hehe! The next thing you'll want to do is start downloading clothes, skin textures, hair, and poses for them, and other goodies to build settings/scenes for them to go in. Just about anything and everything you'd ever want can be found for free ... sets and scenes, props, lights, textures, backgrounds, etc.I've compiled a list over the last few years of sites that offer freebies. I haven't updated it in a while, but it should be more than enough to get you started. All of these links take you to the main pages, so you need to look for anything that says "poser", "downloads", "freebies", "free stuff", etc.
And keep in mind that when you're looking for stuff for your people (hair, clothes, skin textures, etc), don't download anything unless it says it is made specifically for the characters you've got. There are ways of making certain items (hair for example) fit other characters, but when you're first starting out it's best if you keep it simple and stick with things that are made for the characters you've got.
Most people use abbreviations, so if you've downloaded both Michael 3.0 and Victoria 3.0 you'll want to look for anything that says M3 and V3. You'll also see a lot of head and body morphs (INJ/REM) but unless you've got the head and body morph packs (which you have to buy from DAZ) you won't be able to use them. There are a few morphs floating around that can be used without the morph packs though, so keep an eye out for them. Usually it will say in the notes/description if they can be used without the morph packs.
One last thing before you start downloading ... you need to be organized. VERY important! If you don't come up with some kind of system, you're going to end up with an ungodly mess, and won't know what you've downloaded or how to find a certain item later on. I made a little turorial of how I keep my freebies organized, which you can find here: www.renderosity.com/freestuff.ez?Form.Contrib=Neyjour&Topsectionid=0
Also, for 99% of what you'll be downloading you'll need WinZip to extract the files. And for a few you might also need WinRAR. Both have free versions.
Ah, crap. There used to be an option to do that... but then Proboards did this complicated revamp thing. It doesn't look like there's an option now. Sorry...
No prob!
It's a shame though, that they would get rid of such a usefull option.
