Cool pics, everyone... ^_^ I'd say it's cool to put names to faces, but I see you all as your avatars anyway. ;D

LOL, I just noticed this thread isn't actually called a 'thread', apparently it's a 'thead' Anyway...here's a photo of me in my latest wacky creation...imagine it with a wire crown with a king with a queen and jack on either side (as yet unmade) and holding a set of five cards (four aces and a king I think) and a dice cup...I haven't got that all done yet...

RE the cards - cool! I first thought it was a kinda ancient Roman/Greek armour thing - breastplate, mail skirt, and wrist thingums - before I even saw it was made of cards. ('cept maybe I'm overthinking with my bloke's head and it's actually a ballgown.)

CJ thanks! Chir - ;D Glad it's fixed. It took a while when I started off handsewing, but on the sewing machine it only took about 3-4 nights GR - LOL, nope, armour with Greek/Roman influences...lots of fun to make but they are really annoying to repair when they tear - especially in the arm joints. The crown and holding items are like symbols of office - she fights with the dice and cards, and her high rank is symbolised by the crown. Plus, a helmet and sword would have been far too hard to make out of cards!!

So where are you wearing it to?

Ummm, I'll get back to you on that one...
It's really fragile which means no hard wear and tear, although I can sit down in it...the other problem is that it gets a little uncomfortable after too long, although I suppose I'd get used to it.
I'd wear it to welcome you at the airport ;D ...but then, you're not coming so it looks like that's not going to happen.

Just thought - for that costume you should hold *five* aces. Dunno what you should do for the fifth one, anyone got an idea for a fifth suit? And in one of the Pratchett books the goddess Chaos plays with dice that have no numbers on them. That's kinda deep... (Maybe you should wear the suit to job interviews. Or swimming.)

Chir - I would pay for your ticket, but I'm sure I have far less money than you!! Get saving and I'll just take you everywhere in Brisbane, that way you only really have to pay for the ticket... ...Plus, everything's cheaper in Aussieland GR - Maybe a Joker, to slightly symbolise who she is. I would do dice with no numbers, but then it's not as obvious what they are ;D And no, I don't think I'll wear it swimming, all that hard work gone to waste!!

I didn't say no to the job interview cause it could be one where my wacky clothing ideas need to be demonstrated... ...I would NEVER wear it swimming, but I may (highly unlikely) wear it to a job interview.
