RE anime: Ghost in the Shell definitely a goodie. Neon Genesis has the coolest opening theme of any series ever. Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo always manages to make me laugh. Ninja Scroll makes my skin crawl at moments, but is still beautiful and powerful... I cried the first time I saw it but I am sook. Spirited Away is the bestest fun ever and Haku is one of the most endearing charries I have ever come across (again, made me cry). I got Akira the otehr day and hopefully will get a chance to watch it soon, and next on my hit list is Witch Hunter Robyn. That off teh top of my head.. might have something more meaningful to add later.

Kusanagi is like the coolest character ever shes so stable yet weak at the same time, she rules!
I have seen Akira i like it, not as good as Ghost in the shell but good, and must agree Ninja scrolls does make skin crawl! *shudder*
I think neon genesis is next on my list to buy!
oh yes and i dont cry but spirited away choked me up!

OK then, must be time for my two cents worth by now. In case no one had yet noticed I am indeed an 80's man. This means my manga is a little more refined Like Patlabor I/II/III also movies such as Split Second (cult classic) Johny Nuemonic (Screenplay by Willam Gibson, the father of Cyberpunk), of course I can't forget Guyver, or Akira (the one that started it all off for me).
What else? let me see. Of course we can't forget "Do androids dream of electric sheep" AKA Bladrunner.
Quotes? let me see.
Oooh, Ahhh, ooohh , ah ah ah. Dying vampire with ruler through chest at the end of the Buffy Movie.
I am the night rider, a fuel injected suicide machine!!! Crazy dude being chased at the beggining of Mad Max.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, hmmm. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those...moments will be lost in time, like tears...in .. the rain. Time... to die" Roy, as he dies. Bladerunner
That will do for now, besides the real world is calling for my attention again.

William Gibson rocks muchly. ;D
We had to study Bladerunner in english, which was fun. Although I'd never seen it before and managed to embarrass myself by getting all teary at the end. Was definitely a good movie. I'm also a bit fond of Hackers, it wasn't exactly emotional or powerful or any of that, but it was good fun.

Aaaah, Bladerunner - quintessential sf movie. Ridley Scott master of mood. And I *love* Bruce Spence (the copter pilot) in MM2. I watched it again recently. It was such a raw, violent movie. I see you're a man of great taste. I'm a bit of a 'Pitch Black' fan as well. Just wish Claudia Black had a bigger part. How do you think she would do as Parrish? MDP

Now that you mention Claudia Black, yeah I could see her being Parrish. She has the toughness, a bit short though. Man of taste huh? Though suddenly I feel I have to justify my sensitive side, hmm how to do that again? Oooh oooh forgot my most oft used movie quote, ok, ok, ok. this ones for us oldies out there (no offence ) "Go that way, really fast, if something gets in your way, then turn." Comic Relief sidekick(also played Booger from Revenge of the Nerds), Better Off Dead (early John Cusack flick) and of course we can't forget... My name is Inago Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die. I can keep going all night, although I do need to get some sleep at some point. Later Gang

*laughs hysterically at the 'you killed my father' quote* I LOVE that one! Oh, Marianne, Claudia black rocks my world... she'd RULE as Parrish! ;D I've gotten into Asian horror at the moment (The Grudge is to blame!). A Tale Of Two Sisters (or Janghwa, Hongryeonis my new favourite film. "Do know what's really scary? You want to forget something. Totally wipe it off your mind. But you never can. It can't go away, you see. And... and it follows you around like a ghost."

I been watching a bit of japanese horror lately, also thanks to the Grudge... which I shouldn't, because I'm a huge baby when it comes to horror. Especially horror the way the japanese do it. Ever seen The Eye? Creepyness.

Ooh, Ooh.
I thought of some more quotes.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank a gas, half a pack of cigerettes. Its dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it! Jake and Elwood Blues. Need we say more?

Speaking of Bruce Spence (yes I know this isn't a movie fan site so I'll be brief).
Now those of us in here that are fans of the Lord of the Rings movies would've baught the extended editions.
On the Extended edition DVD's of Return of the King there's a character called the Mouth of Sauron (he comes thru the Black Gate to tell the fellowship that Frodo is dead). Who is indeed played by... Bruce Spence.

You're a mind of information! ;D New quote from me: "High school girls, high school girls, one, two, three, high school girls!" ... okay, so Fruits Basket isn't a movie. But it's my current obsession, so.. *huggles Shigure*

Ok, ok, ok. Last one I promise, (unless of course I'm asked for more;).
How could you be so mean to someone so meaningless? Selina Kyle, Batman Returns
Listen. You listen to me. You see that city over there? THAT'S where I'm supposed to be. Not down here with the dogs, and the garbage, and the fraging last month's newspapers blowing back and forth. I've had it with them, I've had it with you, I've had it with ALL THIS - I want ROOM SERVICE! I want the club sandwich, I want the cold Mexican beer, I want a $10,000-a-night hooker! I want my shirts laundered... like they do... at the Imperial Hotel... in Tokyo. Johnny Mnemonic, Johnny Mnemonic
