According to Amazon, 5th November 2009 is the release date for Mirror Space... so we now have a countdown. ^_^

How do you think the next book's gonna go?

Still hoping Trin gets kicked where it hurts and Sal and Insignia meet up for a coffee and a chat, myself. ;D

Here are couple of early reviews guys,

'The third book in the Sentients of Orion series, Mirror Space is space opera supreme with so much going for it. The build up in books 1 and 2 has been great and now the pay off can start ready for the conclusion in book four. I'm reading this at the moment and can tell you that it's living up to expectations. For space opera with some strong characters and great plotting this series is one to read.' scifiguy.ca

Don't forget there's a freebie for the first person to post a review here. Meantime, Walker of the World's said this:

Ack! I had to get White Dwarf books to order it specifically for me. Bad bookshops for not having it in stock yet! >:(

...and my copy of Sharpshooter will be coming with it too.

This will be an MDP Christmas.

Finished Mirror Space a couple of days ago (it took me 4 days, Marianne :P)

Awesome continuation to the series. "Luscious, luscious..."

Don't want to post any spoilers for those who are still waiting for their copies or not yet read it, but suffice to say you should enjoy this part of the ride immensely.

In addition to the appearance of some new characters on Edo, the existing cast get some continued development.

The format follows much the same pattern as previously - weaving individual strands of story together from the perspective of each of the main an-/pro-tagonists.

Oh, and you get to find out Insignia's true name, too :)

All the above makes up for the sidelining of the Sole Entity, who's presence is somewhat forgotten in favour of driving the character stories forward.

All in all a very enjoyable read (just like the other two) - now I just have to contain myself until Marianne releases Transformation Space (I know she's gonna kick me for that comment!) ;D

BTW - the above wasn't exactly a "review" so much as a personal thumbsup :)

But if you wanna send a freebie my way, it's all good! Hehehehe...

Definitely doesn't pass as a review, so the competition is still open. However, I will sling you a freebie for being the first to speak up :)

It took me a while to get through because of work and commitments. The verdict: Marianne, you are awesome in the traditional sense of the word.

The review is up on my LJ but here is a copy.

Mirror Space: Marianne De Pierres has really outdone herself with this novel. It ripples like warm Quixite through the brain.

This series has become something very special to me over the last few years. Even a De Pierres fanatic like myself has to admit that things started off a little shaky for what has become an awesome adventure in space opera. The first novel had a complex beauty to it that in some cases confused and in others amazed. The second book brought together all those seemingly random elements and patterns began to form, the apparently unnecessary details working their way into the story and the big picture took shape.

Now we come to book three of this overwhelming series. I was honestly blown away at how well Marianne has made this story come together. Mirror Space has more twists and turns than an Escher inspired maze but somehow by the end it makes more sense than a simple plot ever could.
The characters are back in full force, Marianne displays her well known talent for making her subjects suffer for her art, with physical and emotional challenges enough to make a certifiable sadist smile. The part I actually find the most convolutedly fun is that through the series only little glimpses of the "God" or "Entity" have flickered through, yet in this last book and with only three or four dozen word paragraphs it is possible to at least partially understand what kind of deranged game it is playing.

By the end of Mirror Space consider yourself a lost cause. The hooks will be embedded so tightly it will be impossible to A) put it down or B) think of anything else for quite a long time afterward.
Buy the books, all three, then read them. I mean it.

YAY! We have a winner! (and a blush from me!). I just sent your parcel from the last competition, IM. I guess it's back down to the post office for me this week :) .

Feel free to post IM's review EVERYWHERE!
